MeritSkor.net Advertised During Górnik Zabrze–Fenerbahçe Match
By Erdem / 29/07/26

MeritSkor.net advertising appeared on pitchside boards and in a physical placement behind the goal during Górnik Zabrze’s match against Fenerbahçe. During the game, the domain opened the Meritbet gambling platform directly. Later checks showed a live-score page first, followed by an automatic redirect to the same betting site.
MeritSkor.net advertisements were visible during the S Sport broadcast of the Górnik Zabrze–Fenerbahçe match. The domain appeared repeatedly on the advertising boards around the pitch and in a large ground-level placement behind one of the goals.
The behind-goal display remained visible during wide shots, set pieces and attacks inside the penalty area. The pitchside boards also gave the domain repeated exposure throughout the match.
MeritSkor.net Redirected Visitors to Meritbet

When MeritSkor.net was opened during the match, visitors were taken directly to Meritbet’s active website. Meritbet is not authorised to offer betting services in Turkey and is treated as an illegal gambling operator under Turkish law.
The page reached through the redirect also displayed a message stating: “We wish success to Fenerbahçe, of which we are an official sponsor.” The Meritbet name did not appear on the stadium advertising itself. It became visible only after users entered the MeritSkor.net address.
Later checks showed a slightly different process. MeritSkor.net initially opened a functioning live-score page containing leagues, fixtures and match results. After the page remained open for a short period, visitors were automatically redirected to Meritbet’s current domain.
The redirect therefore changed from an immediate transfer during the match to a delayed redirect after the game. In both cases, the advertised domain ultimately sent users to the same gambling platform.
Live-Score Content Used Before the Redirect
MeritSkor.net presents itself as a sports results service. Its pages contain match schedules, live scores, team information and statistics from competitions in different countries.
The betting redirect does not always occur as soon as the website loads. Visitors first see the sports content before the Meritbet page opens automatically. This creates an additional step between the stadium advertisement and the gambling platform.
The setup also allows the advertised domain to remain unchanged even when Meritbet moves to a new web address. The destination can be updated without replacing the MeritSkor.net branding displayed inside the stadium.
MeritSkor.net consequently serves two functions: it displays genuine live-score content and channels visitors to an unlicensed betting platform.
Advertising Appeared in Two Stadium Locations
The MeritSkor.net campaign was not limited to a brief appearance on a single advertising board. Its presence on both the pitchside panels and the ground behind the goal provided sustained visibility from several camera angles.
The advertisements were part of the physical stadium environment rather than graphics added by S Sport. They appeared in the television coverage because they were included in the match footage supplied from the stadium in Poland.
Using both advertising areas indicates a planned matchday campaign rather than an incidental or short-lived display. Viewers could see the domain during open play, goalmouth action and set-piece situations.
MeritSkor.net Advertising Blurred in Match Highlights

The MeritSkor.net advertisements were blurred in the match highlights released after the game. The domain had been clearly visible on the pitchside boards and behind the goal during the live broadcast, but it was made unreadable in the edited footage.
The address, which redirected visitors to Meritbet, was therefore removed from the shorter match footage while remaining visible throughout parts of the original live coverage.
A More Concealed Form of Betting Promotion
Advertisements for betting operators that are not licensed in Turkey have previously appeared during European qualifying matches involving Turkish clubs.
Several gambling brands were visible on the pitchside boards during Galatasaray’s Champions League qualifier against PSV Eindhoven in 2021. Similar advertisements also appeared during Fenerbahçe’s away match against Lugano in 2024.
In those earlier cases, the betting brands and website addresses were displayed openly. Viewers could immediately identify the companies being promoted.
The Górnik Zabrze–Fenerbahçe match followed a different model. Meritbet was not named in the stadium. Instead, the advertising promoted MeritSkor.net, which initially appeared to be a live-score service and then redirected visitors to the betting platform.
The campaign therefore replaced direct gambling branding with a concealed redirect domain. Rather than placing the operator’s name on the advertising boards, it used sports content and an automatic redirect to connect viewers with Meritbet.
