A major operation has been carried out as part of an ongoing betting and match-fixing investigation in Turkish football, led by the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office. Acting on detention warrants issued for 33 suspects, Financial Crimes officers from the Istanbul Police detained 32 individuals, while efforts to locate one remaining suspect are ongoing.
According to investigators, several club executives are suspected of holding accounts on legal betting platforms and placing wagers on matches involving their own teams. The allegations include bets placed in favor of opposing sides as well as wagers related to goal totals and specific in-game outcomes.
Simultaneous Raids Conducted in 9 Provinces
The operation, coordinated from Istanbul, was carried out simultaneously across nine provinces. In addition to Istanbul, searches and evidence seizures were conducted in Adana, Ankara, Antalya, Denizli, Giresun, Izmir, Konya and Muğla.

Investigation Based on Law No. 6222
